Print agent: install and link

Install the Windows print agent, link it with an account key, allowed sites, auto update.

The 82label print agent is a small Windows tray program. While it runs, print() sends labels straight to the label printer with no dialog. It is free for 30 days from the first link, then free for subscribers; it works once linked with an account key.

Install

  1. Get 82label-Setup-version.exe from Download (Windows 10 and 11, 64-bit).
  2. It installs without admin rights into your user folder (%LOCALAPPDATA%\Programs\82label) and shows a tray icon.
  3. It starts with Windows (switch that off in the tray menu).
  1. Sign in to 82label.app and press New key in My templates › Print agent. The key (l82a_…) is shown only once.
  2. Paste it in tray icon › Link account….
  3. When the subscription checks out, the tray shows "Linked". The link is re-checked every 12 hours and keeps printing for 7 days offline.

Allowed sites

So that no website can print behind your back, the agent checks the requesting site (Origin). For a new site it asks above the tray, "Allow https://shop.example.com to print labels?", and remembers the answer. 82label.app is allowed from the start. Remove sites in tray › Allowed sites.

Auto update

One minute after start and every six hours it looks for a new version. It installs quietly and restarts only when 82label's update signature checks out and the file from 82label.app matches its size and SHA-256. Turn it off or press "Check for updates" in the tray menu.

Checking

const s = await Label82.agentStatus();
// null → no agent, or it is not running
// { version: '0.1.0', allowed: true, licensed: true } → prints directly
